EU parliament members expense allowance abuse

this RTL team with austrian MEP Hans-Peter Martin is showing Members of the European Parliament (MEPs), coming in on friday mornign to sign the attendance registry, so they can claim their daily allowance of €284, complete with packed up suitcases to facilitate a quick and immediate getaway to the airport. it shows embarrassed MEPs hiding in lifts, covering their faces. Irish MEP Kathy Sinnott is even shown claiming (at 7 AM) that she had already put in a full 7 hours work and some poor girl bangs her head trying to get away from the camera crew ...
