Yeah, that'll do it!
People seem to forget why we fought for independence from the unjust taxation from the King of Britain in the first place.
Now it's just being done from within.
People think most of the money the government collects from us in taxes is via the income tax, because it is true. The White House Office of Management and Budget figures for 2006 in billions of dollars:
Total income taxes (individual and corporate) = 1397.8
Total receipts = 2407.3
That's 58% of receipts. Another 837.8 billion is from "Social insurance and retirement receipts".
All other receipts are 171.7 billion or 7% of all receipts.
If you think it is easy to cut the federal budget to the level of 6 years ago (a cut of 22.5%) then you should submit a plan to the American people and run for office, because if it made sense then I'd vote for you.
Bzzzt! Wrong again. But perhaps the above quote is symptomatic of that markedly USian ailment of assuming that everything, and everyone else worth paying attention to is also USian. I'm not USian. But if I were:
Dennis Kucinich is the only potential candidate for president for whom I could vote.
Point taken.

I agree and I didn't mean to imply that what I said applies to everyone around the world and within this community, just those that are responsible for making a choice in the matter.
Lol. Socialists dislike libertarians even more than they dislike fundamentalist republicans like Bush.
Which is saying something. Actually it's a tie.
My ignorance? No, your ignorance. Either you have a most unusual private definition of the word "fact", or reading for comprehension is not your strongest ability at the moment.
Please show me where I said Bush and Libertarians are alike.
You can put your apology here: ______________________.
So, wtf.. explain yourself
CommunistsSocialists equally dislike Libertarians and Bush. And nobody said anything about communists until you; 'socialist' and 'communist' are not terms that are interchangable.
qualm could be mistaking some common ideas between Paul and the quoted racists...perhaps you can supply a picture of him in a white robe? And yes, WE are the only thing worth paying attention to, as far as we are concerned. The problem is, we don not follow that doctrine. Which is why you can just ignore qualm.
Ron Paul has been pandering to the racist far-right and violent militia movement his entire political career.
Here are some of the views he has published over the years:
"If you have ever been robbed by a black teen-aged male, you know how unbelievably fleet-footed they can be."
"Opinion polls consistently show that only about 5 percent of blacks have sensible political opinions, i.e., support the free market, individual liberty and the end of welfare and affirmative action."
"Politically sensible blacks are outnumbered as decent people... I think we can safely assume that 95 percent of the black males in that city [Washington] are semi-criminal or entirely criminal."
"We don't think a child of 13 should be held responsible as a man of 23. That's true for most people, but black males age 13 who have been raised on the streets and who have joined criminal gangs are as big, strong, tough, scary and culpable as any adult and should be treated as such."
As you can see Ron Paul *barely* stops short of stating that black people are less human.
