The Donnie Darko Directors Cut is better (includes the bits Richard Kelly was forced to remove by the studio for time reasons).
There's a dog and talk of smurfs in the film, but I can't scrape the barrel to mis-label 'Cute' on this!
What an awesome movie, was very moving when I watched it right before graduating.
Donnie's girlfriend is played by Jena Malone.
