A part that was not included in the clip was a very true statement: The People Should Not Fear Their Government, It's the Government that Should Fear it's People." This is a concept lost here in the United States because it is FEAR that they are feeding us... :-/
Psycology is a powerful tool in the hands of those who know how to use it. To create a crisis to get elected on the promise of a solution is a short sighted. The long term plan is to have a problem and get elected on the promise of a solution, and then pretend to be "working on it." Don't solve the problem because thats how you get elected. For example; National Debt, Healthcare, Education, Civil Rights, all have been peristant election issues used to get people elected for the last 60 years and we are no closer to a solution now then we were half a century ago.

only those that actually have a spine will feel the chill!
sutch a shame becuse it had a good message within. oh well !
I'd be hard pressed to come up with a time where there wasn't "something" to be afraid of. That is to say that there wasn't "something" in the news to be reported as the new "crisis". The problem I have with people drawing parallels with a movie like V, is that that takes a lot of historical liberties and assumtions, and that a movie will show you events, how thay happened and the way the movie wants you to see them. Don't forget that America has a free, non-state run media, and it's the media that delivers the information not the government. That being said, media is a capitialistic industry and in order to get viewers and advertising revenue, they need to give you a reason to watch and a reason to keep you watching. The saying in news media is "If it bleeds it leads", and while the government my bring issues to the media, it's the media that sets the adgenda. If our media were state run, you'd certainly have a point.
It also takes a lot for a society like the U.K. to spiral down into what basiclly amounts to a police state, and quite frankly, anyone who says America is becomeing a police state, doesn't know what a police state is, in my opinion.
It should be noted that Joseph Goebbels was Adolf Hitler's Propaganda Minister.
