srdsays...Looks interesting, but what about gears? That demo bike didn't seem to have any.
my15minutessays...^ they replaced gears with a system that gradually increases pressure on the chain.
it won't actually affect your speed, though.
just makes it harder to pedal, so you'll think you're going faster...
Enzobluesays...A fookin' belt drive passes for innovation?? Good lord we're getting pathetic.
MarineGunrocksays...What a waste of time, energy and R&D money. Not that you actually have to do a lot of research or development to produce something that's already in existence.
Shame on me for thinking they'd actually make something I'd be interested in.
elyssesays...*fist shaking at sky* You'll have to pry my chain and gears from my cold, dead hands you bastards!
A bike's drive mechanism has been around in the form it has for so long for a reason, people.
timefactorsays...There's a reason that people have been trying to find a replacement for chain drive since the earliest days of bicycles, people: chains suck. This is the most promising replacement I've seen yet. There's an internal-geared 8 speed version that looks pretty nice for a commuter bike:

I'm not in the market for a bike but I'm curious enough to hunt one down and test ride it.

You go to a bar and start making conversation.
