The recount that was supposed to take 3 days is now 5 days running. The first results released from it upheld the results for two parliamentary seats, but I can't say that I'm very optimistic for the rest. This is a bad situation getting worse.

It will be interesting to see if the Chinese munitions ship will be able to dock anywhere.

I dunno - he's got a lot of supporters. with guns. and a willingness to do whatever it takes to keep him in power.

I used to live with Zimbawen guys. Their perspective on things was really interesting. Mugabe was a hero back in the early eighties late 70s. This was the first case I'd ever seen on the BBC where their perspective seemed to be off. the seemed to skip right over the second Chimurenga.

The history of the "Second Chimurenga" is really relevant to today, and explains why Mugabe can garner so much support, even after his policies make things much more difficult for most Zimbaweans

The Chinese ship docked in Angola: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/7368208.stm

Supposedly it will only be allowed to unload cargo "destined for Angola", but the Angolan government is a strong supporter of Mugabe, so who knows what will happen.
