I got really curious and tried to do some research on this hole and didn't find anything, however, I found information about a hole in Kola Peninsula, Russia which is apparently classified as the deepest man-made hole in the world. It was made in an attempt to study the warm, mysterious area where the crust and mantle intermingle– the Mohorovičić discontinuity, or "Moho."

The damn thing is 12,262 meters (7.62miles) deep.
I wonder how far down this pipe in Israel goes? Someone with better Googling ability should check it out!
13 seconds of absolute freefall, starting at rest = 828.9 meters. That's an upper bound on the depth of the hole in this video. Surely the rock loses some speed from air resistance and audible collisions with the wall, so the hole is shallower than 828 meters.
Don't forget that the sound takes time to travel back. So it's not really even 13 seconds.
the Mohorovičić discontinuity, or "Moho."
So THAT'S where the "moho" in "Moho mine" comes from!
Total Annihilation fans, you know what I'm talking about.
^Also, interesting tie in to TA.
