Luckily my intelligence impaired friend, being British, he will go to the Dentist, and being British, he won't be put off by having to climb any stairs along the way, nor worry if his dentist doesn't do home visits or have a "Drive Thru" dental surgery: You see, us British people (indeed everyone who's not American - I know the thought of someone not being American is hard to understand but bear with me:) We have these things called legs, they allow us W A L K - I know it's a strange and largely, alien concept most American's can't understand but underneath that wide expanse of your waistline are two appendages that allow you travel places without the need for a car.
I'm sure you can stretch your greasy, chubby fingers to the other side of your sofa, past the bags of empty potato chips and pizza boxes to find the TV remote when you can flick through one of your 1000+ channels and find some information about it.

Hello there, i wonder if i can help you - i'm british, and it looks like you're having a little trouble with the meanings of words. Don't be embarassed, you're probably in the upper percentile of your nation for knowing that a word with 3 syllables exists. Then attaching some emotional value to the word beyond the literal "it's a little bit like iron" is far beyond even toddler level!
Irony is a way of saying something that is intended to portray the opposite meaning to that which is stated! If we were watching David Mitchell's perfect teeth and everyone was, to a man, thinking "Wow, David Mitchell really doesn't need to go to the dentist!" This might then be an ironic statement.
Possibly the word you were looking for was sardonic. This word would apply to a scornful statement intended to heap derision upon the person it was aimed at.
For example if i were to call you a "burger eating, war mongering, archaic-theocratic bunch of fat inbred hillbillies with an army which has all the gear but no idea, and a penchant for making enemies of countries they're trying to liberate by acting like schoolyard bullies", then we might be referring to a sardonic comment.

I will be sure not to ask any of the brits I know about their teeth while I'm commenting on their terrible national food. Or asking how much money they make.

But I can't help but wonder if the American was just very naive, but well intentioned. Comedy is an unusual career, perhaps he was just curious if it's possible to make a living at it. A person's income is only taboo to discuss when you actually believe it is a measure of their personal value. And I really don't think most people are so deluded.

The video does acknowledge that English people (not sure about the other countries) don't like to talk salaries. I certainly don't and wouldn't dream of asking. I don't even know how much my best mates make.
As ever it's worth noting that American teeth are just as bad as British/European teeth. They just spend a shitload more on covering up that fact.

This is true everywhere. The comedian in the sift is annoyed by the behavior of one asshole who happens to be an American. I live and work in the American south, and I don't know anyone who would seriously ask a coworker, acquaintance, or especially a perfect stranger such a crass question.
