Was it my flagrant use of italics?

I just don't know if he's technically mentally handicapped, and I'm not entirely sure that he actually has a license. But I'm drunk, so who am I to criticize?

I don't know if he is, either. I was just reiterating what braindonut said. He seems slow, if anything, too slow for me to trust his driving skills and judgement.
