DC TEA PARTY - MARCH FOOTAGE WITH INTERVIEWS

On 9.12.2009, we went to Washington DC to document the Tea Party protests against, well, a lot of things, including health insurance reform, the IRS, abortion, global warming, and our "socialist/communist/fascist/Nazi/Muslim " president, Barack Obama. Some of them called for a return to McCarthyism, while others called for Glenn Beck to run for office--indeed, it seemed the only thing that everyone agreed on was Fox News.

these people are so stupid. Why did they sit by while bush was fucking stuff up for eight years ? ? thats who these people are, the ones who where okay with what happened with your previous joke of a "leader" Bush the shoe dodger.

At some point, Glenn Beck, O'Reilly and the rest of the Fox crew are gonna get these people unified into one cohesive army and somehow convince them all to attack Antarctica.

The day after this army departs they're all gonna show up on air and be all, "*Phew* Well guys.. it took over a decade but we finally got rid of all the nut jobs. We here at Fox want to apologize for putting you through all that.. anyways, everyone still in the U.S. gets a free beer.. on us. Cheers.".

I can dream, right?

If we're really clever, maybe we can convince them that the world is coming to an end, and that we're all going to leave on big colony space-ships. The "Real Americans" get their very own ship, and they all get the honor of being the first off the planet.

These are the people that make me (nearly) ashamed to be a human.

At least, the answer mostly given when confronted with facts contrary to their "world view" was "I didn't know that" and not "that's a lie". There is still hope for them.

The one bright spot of this video is the young guy with the microphone. He did a pretty good job of not getting entangled in the idiocy. I liked his techniques. I would have even gone so far as to edit out the part where he talks to the camera about fascism, communism and socialism to keep the tone more aloof. The subjects of the video paint a picture well enough on their own.

At first, I get upset at the ignorance. But the last 20-30 seconds makes it clear that they are just uninformed. It's not entirely their fault if all they watch is FOX which gives them a one sided story.

Ignorant...uninformed... same thing right?

I really like the C-Span style questioning that I hear here. I think that is the best way to get to the bottom of any happening. It's something that the for-profit media have forgotten on purpose.
