Reverse motion time lapse film in which a tree looks like it's being built instead of being cut down. Beautiful. Music: "Opus 36", by Dustin O'Halloran

I don't know why, but this is a little disturbing somehow. Very cool though
79 upvotes and only 5 comments, and one of those came from a computer program. What does that tell me? That images sometimes move us so powerfully that words fail? I know that's how I feel.
I cannot describe the emotion I feel when I see this. I could throw out words like beauty, melancholy, etc., but to do that would only begin to describe the tip of the iceberg, so I will cease and desist.
I'm glad that so many of you appreciate this. It makes me feel that as divergent as our opinions about the world, people, or politics may be here at the Sift, there is still something that we all have in common, tying us together. Don't ask me to name it, because I don't think a name for it truly exists. (I don't care for the term 'spiritus mundi'. Nothing slouches towards Bethlehem, IMHO.)
So what am I saying? I'm glad that so many of us are at least on the same page. I guess.
