He also needs to add in the religion factor. Bring the slaves in, rip them of their culture and religion, force the 'white' Christian god/Jesus upon them.. and there you have it. Subjugation in body as well as in spirit.

Imagine the irony... the embracing of the very religion of your enslavers. That which was used to justify their enslavement in the first place.
