They not only totally ignore that America hosts FAR nerdier events (giant LAN game competitions and gaming conventions in addition to anime conventions and whatnot), but they act like this is somehow a uniquely Japanese thing. More proof that mainstream media just doesn't fucking understand video games, or just stereotypes leaking into "serious" news? I don't know, I don't care. Stupid fucking video, and a downvote.
