He makes such a great point though... a lot of these low income folks who continually vote Republican year after year somehow don't realize they're voting in people who care nothing about their situation. It boggles the mind.
That's actually true. The really high income of the few "pulls" the average upward (It's like the old joke: If Bill Gates enters a bar full of unemployed people, suddenly everyone in there is a millionaire "on average").
According to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Household_income_in_the_United_States#Distribution_of_Income
the average household income in the US in 2004 was roughly $60K. On the other hand the median income (the income where 50% of the population is below or above) was roughly only $43K. So 50% of the households make $17K less than the average income. This probably means that about 65 to 70% of the household in the US make less than the average income. My bet is that Joe Sixpack is somewhere in there.
six packs can be pretty pricey if you really like beer.

I thought low-income folks generally vote Democratic. A lot of good it's done for them over the years...

There are other correlates of living in an urban area: wealth, education, exposure to a variety of people, and irreligion.
Joe Twelvepack doesn't have to be sober to see the grandiose failure of liberalism versus reality. Unlike limousine liberals, he lives in a world with real consequences and DOES vote in his best interests. He doesn't look kindly on elitists trying to tax him to death while pissing on American values.
If you crave stagnant socialism there's always Europe. Pack a prayer rug.

The Saudi dictators put the American troops in the muslim heartland. The US gets oil - the King gets money. Blame anyone - blame the wahabi fucknuts. They are to blame. They are responsible for the entire war on terror. They play both sides and the war has never been about America but rather about the Saudi royal family. It's like medieval Europe.
Middle East? Medieval East is more like it.
