That was great. They could have used some more fake blood though. I hate it when morning news shows do this kind of thing. The whole point of the original video was to document how it easy it is to steal a bike in plain sight in NYC without anyone trying to stop them or calling the police. Having a tv camera crew there to just watch a chain being cut is a little silly. FOX got what they deserved.

Relax, lady; you're fully CYA-enabled. "That was totally uncool". Well, maybe, but HAW HAW HAW.

PS I could have done with more finger-pointing and laughing, preferably on the Neistats' part.

Not that funny...I mean it could have been, but the execution was lame. If they'd pulled it off better the reporter wouldn't have caught on instantly

westy: my thoughts exactly.

termal: true, but I think the killer effect was the overblown hysteria from the Foxies no matter how it's pulled off.

termal: I think it wouldn't have been funny if it were not for the reporters reaction.

Instead of just admitting she'd been tricked, she gets all defensive, complaining that children are watching the show. What a cop out.

I have to tell you ALL that, although I am the last to say that FOXNEWS is above or beyond being "punked", this WAS NOT FOX NEWS! It was channel 5 in new york which is a FOX affiliate. Since it is clearly visible on the video, I'm not sure why someone else hasn't brought this up.

As with most affiliates, there is a station manager that does a briefing of a regional director concerning stories. Thats how national news sites pick up on the small stations. They find news and if the national guys like it they piggy back on the locals. National probably knew about this, but it was not worth their time. I have noticed in my city and in other places that I have lived, FOX has a hand in their affiliates. A nationally syndicated morning radio duo based in my city were picked on by the local FOX channel, its was petty really, but FOX stayed on them. A few days after the local story started, the national FOXNEWS channel did a brief segment. The local channel had nothing to report except that the duo were being outlandish and challenging FCC regulations. So what? Stern does it every hour he is on the air. These guys are not Stern kind of guys. They are like 3 or 4 in the nation. After the National segment aired, the local guys started asking intelligent and well thought out questions. It did not go anywhere, but it was odd that the story had been fed, and then the national guys tried to help them to get a bigger story.

thats funny. what a childishly unprofessional news reporter. "that was not cool" "they totally burned us" "those guys are jerks", what is she 15 years old?

For the record, a professional reaction... "ooh, very funny guys, thanks... coming up next, are squid a danger to our children?..." yep.
