Biden's Town Hall: No One is Above the Law
tags:LiveLeak: Democratic vice-presidential nominee Joe Biden said during a town hall meeting that he and running mate Barack Obama could pursue criminal charges against the Bush administration if they are elected in November. Biden's comments attracted little notice on a day dominated by the drama surrounding his Republican counterpart, Alaska governor Sarah Palin. But his statements represent the Democrats' strongest vow so far this year to investigate alleged misdeeds committed during the Bush years.

The US congress has no balls and no backbone. Their interests do no lie with the country, but rather protecting their asses and playing it safe for the next run for office. Oversight? What a joke. There is no oversight anymore. It is all a political power game to see who can get a foot up on someone else while at the same time protecting each others collective asses so the power game can continue uninhibited.
He who has the most cash and most dirt on everyone else wins.
I like the words he's using but I fear that if they make it to the White House, they'll forget the music.
We have the powerblocks behind Bush and then we have democrats not wanting to upset the balance too much. Because, a two party monopoly is much more important to them.
But ofcourse Biden is going to flirt with the idea in these town hall meetings.
him and obama haven't so much as mentioned bringing forth criminal charges against the Bush administration.
As Biden describes, if you don't prosecute now, you preclude yourself from prosecuting in future cases.
But it comes down to having the political will. As in, "Will this benefit me politically".

yeah he says they "could" pursue criminal charges "if" we elect them. where has he been the last 8 years? why doesn't he file charges tomorrow?
Desperate times indeed.
The first word was "Yes" and everything else was "don't hold me to that".
i remain unconvinced by these two, their whole campaign just makes me think of Tony Blair, 1997. People want change so much they aren't actually listening to the precise wording of this "change"
the incumbents fucked up so bad, it's an easy sell.
