"In the future it may be possible thanks to stem cell and genetic research to allow for people to grow their own replacement parts to the scale of organs in case of it being damaged. What the show really deals with however, is the latest experimental genetic and stem cell research as well as advances in tissue engineering to the case of spinal chord"

The human body is constantly regenerating itself, but as we get older, the ability for self-repair diminishes. The human fetus, however, has far greater powers of regeneration. The program explores how modern medicine is looking at ways to tap into the superhuman power of the embryo to discover the genes that promote this process so they can be reactivated to create new cells and organs. Even delicate tissue such as spinal cords and brain cells can be regrown with the use of neural stem cells.
