i call face-saving bullshit on that. how would she NOT do anything to find her child? how would she NOT know her child was missing? furthermore, soundproofed or not: us women make WAY more noise in labor than anyone can anticipate.
if my husband ever did that to my daughters (thankfully, he appears to be of a different breed altogether than this jackass) i would find myself defending the definition of "torture" as being everything short of organ failure, since i would then be a person who extensively used them.
