B-52 Crash in Spokane, WA

Maverick air-force pilot pushes a B-52 bomber beyond its limits. His too steep banking turn results in loss of lift and gravity takes it from there.

But was everybody OK?

I keed I keed. Because I am ancient, I remember the Time article about this, back when it actually happened. What a moron cowboy that pilot was -- Bud Holland; his name lives in infamy. Fine that he killed himself, but the fact he took three other people with him is rotten. And the copilot was supposed to retire from flying after that flight, so his family was there and saw everything.

Just for clarification; I would never post a video of an accident with injuries or fatalities. This crash was not an accident. It was caused by the deliberate actions of someone who knew the tolerances of an aircraft and chose to ignore them. Tragically, this pilot had a history of this behavior. As someone who is intimately involved with safety systems that protect people, I strongly endorse zero tolerance for bravado that puts others at risk.

I have zero tolerance for that sort of bravado as well.

If I'm riding in a B-52 with my friend at the wheel and they pull this shenanigan bravado, I demand that I be droppd off at the nearest air force base PRONTO.
If my friends have been drinking, I make sure the get the keys to their B-52 off them.
That's zero tolerance.
