$499? From what I've read, that is a discounted rate with a carrier contract.

It certainly looks useful. I look forward to in depth reviews after some *cough* neutral people play around with it for a few days. If a mouse and keyboard can be plugged into it so that it acts as a normal computer with no loss of standard capabilities then it really will be a great product.

Personally though, I think I'd be happy with a $300 netbook that opens 180 degrees, but this thing may be significantly more powerful. Hats off to Apple for pushing tech in practical directions.

It's like the perfect work out machine. In many ways you already know it. When you get it in your hands you know instantly what to do.
