Wow. I received the "doge fuse" once. Late one night (during a short while living there) I was walking back to my apt and came across an elderly woman unconscious on the sidewalk. I ran to a phone booth and called for help. In no time there was a policeman there and some paramedics.
Turns out she was really drunk and simply passed out The policeman shamed her for frightening the poor Gaijin (me) and she apologized....profusely
