Religion makes such great fantasy/sci-fi entertainment.

Farhad - EXACTLY. The movie had this interesting theme of nature being Satan's church, and then it did absolutely nothing interesting, besides just trying to shock for the sake of shock. The last act is simply gore-porn.

...and the previous commenter was on the button; when I saw this with my wife we both started busting up when the fox started talking.
