An innocent women nearly gets killed, apparently by one of our bombs, and all the morons can do is laugh about it.
"That was awesome!"
Of, fuck yeah. I just can't wait till those boneheads get home. Not.
It seems like it's a continuing failing of the military higher-ups that these kinds of things are still happening (them not warning her).
You armchair guys have no idea what state of mind these boys are in, by the looks and sounds of things, constant recalls and endless tours in a war that they know is fucked up and wrong, seems to of made them snap.
Happened in Vietnam en` mass, what makes you think it isn't happening over there right now ?
Dont pass judgment on these guys unless you know the full extent of who they are, and what they have been through. Its not fair.
Adding video to channels (Dark) - requested by calvados.
Yeah....nah I'm sorry, I'm going to side with the troops on this one.

What's not fair? Passing judgment on the atrocity of these men's actions is unfair because they're in the military? How does that make sense? This war is being funded by our tax dollars and a growing deficit from borrowed money, so I think we all have the right to be critical. These guys have been through some shit and they're most likely acting out, but why do I have to condone that behavior and quietly accept our occupation of Iraq? Explain that one to me, please.

I didn't say it wasn't fair because they are in the military, Im saying that judging these guys actions without any idea as to what theyve been through, isn't fair.
Most the guys serving in Iraq are doing so after years past their actual requirement to stay in the service, the pollies keep calling them back, or extending their service terms while they are still over there, in an unjust war. Damn right they are acting out, and yeah, doesn't mean you should condone their actions, but I think the blame should be placed elsewhere.
You cant expect humans to live under those kinds of circumstances and not lose a bit of their humanity along the way. Just seems like the previous posters are too quick to jump straight down the throat of perceptively damaged soldiers, when the blame lies at the feet of the chicken hawks who put them in that situation to begin with.
Edit: An example occurs to me... how do you deal with bad situations? You are highly stressed in your life, do you find some constructive outlet, or do you decided to do something destructive? THAT is the measure. There is not contest that the stresses of war are unimaginable to those who don't serve in them, but the reaction is clearly a sign of what lies at the core of a person.
You armchair guys have no idea what state of mind the IRAQI people are in.
That doesn't mean you should condone the IRAQIS arming themselves to the teeth and creating atrocities fighting a foreign invading army that has destroyed their livelihoods.
And if the blame lies with the chickenhawks in power who put the troops in Iraq, then the blame lies with the American people who put the chickenhawks in power, TWICE. It is ALWAYS the responsibility of the people, the people always have the power.
We all have the power to stop it, never ever let anyone tell you that we don't. When we want peace we will get it.
I don't have the book on me so I cant quote the exact number he writes, relevance to this? Just about any one would have probably shit or piss themselves.
For us armchair types read up on the above book then we may know a little something about what its like.

I think we all get what these guys are going through. That is, we all empathize with their exposure to the war. I'm certainly not saying I'm better than these men. If I was in the same situation, I'd be doing the exact same thing, most likely. And, certainly, I don't think anyone is saying the blame should stop at these men alone. I used to be in the military, so I understand how the chain of command works. I know these men aren't out there blowing up bombs for the fun of it - I get that it comes from somewhere higher.
Still, what these men are doing is reprehensible and inhumane. Period. Even if a serial killer was touched on his no-no spot by his father when he was a child, would that give him the right to kill with impunity because we don't understand where he comes from or what he went through? I think not.

So, basically, you're saying that it's okay for them not to know right from wrong.
You're saying it's okay with you if they laugh and joke with each other as they watch a woman walking to her death, instead of taking some kind of action to warn her and save her life.

Not at all.
Im saying that those who shout up and down about how abhorrent behavior it is coming from the troops, are far too often the ones who stop the blame game at the troops feet, and fail to realise that these guys are acting out like this because of the uniquely fucked up situation that the politicians have put them in.
Its bad enough that they are submitted to seeing their mates get legs / arms blown off, women and children innocently blown to pieces by air ordinance, or rotting carcasses of babies in the streets, I don't give a shit if you are the fucking pope himself, if you are subjected to those circumstances for long enough, you'd be lucky to only be laughing at that kind of a situation.
The actions of the troops in this vid are not a surprise to me. Im not saying its right, I'm saying I totally understand it.
If these guys were a fresh rotation out of Bragg, I suspect it would of gone down a lot differently.
