Strange how the crowd just sat there in seats, must be a relaxing way to watch a concert.
This actually has to do with the production of Jazz on a Summer's Day. The film was shot but when in editing they realized they didn't have enough crowd reaction shots, so they mixed a bunch of them from random places and shot some of themselves watching the first cut.
Thats why it's so uneven in places.
