As for the substance of QM's comment, why is it incumbent on CBS or anyone else to be a "fan" of Israel or of the illegal invasion and occupation of Iraq? The answer, I surmise, is that the U.S. media aren't supposed to exercise independent judgement; they're not supposed to investigate stories and report them on the merits; rather, they're supposed to be a cheering section for whatever the U.S. government (as long as it's a Republican government, at that) and its allies want.

It's a term of "abuse" only because excepting overt failures like Al Franken, liberals always hide who they really are, especially when trying to get elected. Just about every media source outside of talk radio, FOX cable and a handful of newspapers is liberally-biased. The average liberal has PLENTY of choices for their own brand of bias, and that's not even counting the morons in Hollywood and knuckleheads being spat out the government school system.

Figure of speech. You would have to live in a vacuum not to understand that media choose sides, if only to sell, sell, sell. I don't agree on almost everything with Teh Mushroom, but I won't try to block his right to speak his mind.
His argument that Palestinians don't have democracy also seems deceptive. They have democracy, but part of their current government (Hamas, not Abbas) is subjected to physical interference from Israel and financial constraints from many other countries because it's broadly regarded as a terrorist organization.1 That doesn't sound like a legitimate support for Ahmadinejad's thesis that Israel must be wiped off the map.
With the jingoistic threats and lies Ahmadinejad consistently authors (the holocaust is a "fairytale"), it doesn't seem reasonable to defend him any more than you defend Bush.
Which, I would happen to think that he does,
but many others on the sift, in their blanket McCain-bashing tradition would (and should if they're consistent) point out as completely erroneous.

Ahmadinejad is still part of the leadership of Iran, and the one the media treats as the absolute ruler of the country.
This video isn't about the scope of Ahmadinejad's authority within Iran, it's about the media using editing to reverse the message of what the guy said, to make him look like he's evil, while our government rattles sabers at him.
While you can argue there's perhaps a partisan fascination with the video you cite, the kind of thing you see in this video should be concerning to anyone in America, regardless of their political affiliation.
You can't be serious. All we get from the media shits is gloom-and-doom.
Here's a simple formula for you: Republican President and/or Congressional majority = media negative.
Democrat President and/or Congressional majority = media positive.
