The intro to this is really inventive (an oncoming storm is simulated with hands).

I upvote cuz it's a cool video, but David Paich wouldn't be caught dead singing that off key.

^I'm with you on that one. That's what happens when every single choir member has their on mic.

...eeeeOuch. My ears. Especially the melody.

As a live sound technician myself, I nearly had an orgasm just watching this video.

They each have their own mic. Oooooo, how I would love to see that setup!

The singing wasn't exactly the greatest, but it gets my vote for the storm at the beginning. Absolutely superb.

Oh come one, they were a little off in a few places, but all-in-all a great performance.

I thought the singing was great, but the beat-box was distracting. A cappella is a celebration of the human voice, and the arrangement of the song needs to clear away the clutter of poorly imitated instruments.

Yes, there are beat boxers who are absolutely amazing in their skill, but in this instance all it said to me was "we weren't allowed to use a real drum set, so we had a guy fake it".

Fantastic, although... what is it with choirs and the love of cheesy hand movements? Really... don't do that 'rains' hand move... urgh

I kinda thought he would have done better stomping his foot and clapping.

We used to do the whole "hand storm" thing at camp and stuff. it was basically an excuse to get 100 kids to work together, but I guess they've decided it's "artsy" now. sounds great with the thunder.

I did this storm exercise at a teamwork workshop 40 years ago. My daughter did it at camp and I have seen children do it at school assemblies. It is not new nor is it the best version I have seen. In fact, it has been done to death! Ya need to get out more!

I thought beginning the video with the simulation of a thunder storm and the rain was a fabulous novel idea which I thoroughly enjoyed. Then when the singing began, oh my! The harmony and dynamics gave me goose bumps.
Loved every minute of it. This choir did a super job of combining accapella singing with choreography.

Bah! Humbug!

Out of tune! Ear carnage! There are much better choral performances that can't even get sifted. I want to downvote on principle, but I'm trying to resist.

The rainstorm part is cool, but I've seen choirs do similar things many times. It's not all that inventive. The thunder was very well done, though.

And you can tell him (and the guys playing air guitar behind him) that I think he contributed materially to the success of the performance. I may not be a concert level performer like some who post here, but I know what makes the hair in the back of my neck stand up. I applauded here in the office!

Its amazing to me that the people who feel the need to be so negative and nasty are usually the ones who have no talent for anything in their lives except to be that way. Instead of picking this apart, close your eyes and enjoy a group of people who are enjoying themselves. This is a lovely peice, no its not perfect, but nothing on earth is.
