This is the actual footage from Pastor Anderson's camcorder as well as from the surveillance cameras at the Border Patrol Checkpoint.

"I was NOT crossing a border! I was approximately 50 miles from Mexico traveling on a highway from west to east!"

Can you say "Police State"

This is pretty fucking *dark and *lawless - on the police side, I'm not sure how or why they felt that was a proper course of action - but wtf!

Okay, you have a point nomino. You had every right to piggy back on my video (http://www.videosift.com/video/Infinity-Citizen-Enchanting-Video-of-Tokyo-in-TimeLapse) (oh, the humanity).

You do have to obey a lawful order or they can arrest you BUT I didn't see any laws being broken here. We need to take tasers away from the police.

I've seen too many of these videos in the last few months. I know it's easy to make fun of the 'DONT TASE ME BRO' guy but the reason that rose to the top of the video charts is because of it's ridiculousness. Why are these police so quick to draw their tasers when they are dealing with non violent offenders?

Obey the state and the fascists or they will make an example of you. 'freedom is slavery'

Fuck this shit, complete piggery. I have had nothing but bullshit from cops of late. I actually got a ticket for pedestrian in the roadway when i was dancing down an empty street at 3am, completely sober. What did this guy say besides "hey, you have no right to stop me. Show me the dog, make it sniff and detect drugs or bombs. I don't care if your balls are large or your penis is big." and for that, he gets tasered and beaten.

tasers save lives if the claim that police are so brutal is true... i fail to see an argument against tasers.

its not really a police state when there is video of the offense for all to see... even the offenses we dont know about havent impacted my day... hardly a police state if you know how to deal with cops, plain and simple.

these cops didnt have anything else pressing to do so they committed an injustice in the realm of their authority... lame. they wouldnt like it if that happened to someone they know...

"tasers save lives" is only true if the police were going to use a gun instead or perhaps their "whomping" stick OR if this guy was armed. They could have easily broken the glass in the back seat and NOT tasered this guy as he was CLEARLY not a threat and no one would have been injured. This is an outrage.

I don't think ALL cops are like this, but the few that are need to have their badges taken away irrevocably.

Oh and the "I was ordered to do it" excuse doesn't stand here either; same as the torture issue. You did it, so you are just as much to blame. The end.

It seems like it'd be proactive to have a lobbying group that focuses entirely on police reform. Direct the outrage from these videos toward better training.

Do we need a "fascist pigs" channel? I've been through many of these "inland" border patrol stops in Arizona and Mexico and they always give me the chills.

"Your papers please? Do you have anyone of Mexican heritage traveling with you?"

He should've left the car when the police told him to. He can express his lack of consent and ask questions like, "Am I under arrest?", "What am I being charged with?", but by disobeying a direct order from a police officer he invariably escalated the hostility in that situation.

Standing for your rights and being a dumbass are two different things.

So, basically, you're saying "Obey, or you're a dumbass."

I smell a dumb ass alright, and it's not the pastor.

The truly funny thing is - since we live in a democracy, the policeman is a type of public servant. The police are representatives of the state, which is a manifestation of the will of the people, who are individual citizens.
SO - the pastor is effectively beating himself, by being beaten by his official representative (in charge of "law and order").

Democracy - LOL.

Being a dumbass does not warrant this type of violence. I'm sure there are other situations where being a dumbass could threaten the lives of others, but come on! The only people who can honestly look at this and say there's nothing wrong are either lying to themselves, were raised in fear of authority, or are sadists themselves, seeking the Triumph of the Will.

I guess you need a shower.

Watch the video: The officer said he's under arrest. You're not supposed to resist an arrest, unless you want the violence.

Why is that so hard to understand?

>> ^poolcleaner:

I 100% agree that the tasing was totally unnecessary, but the violence was not.

When the officer arrests, he has to use violence.

It's very easy for the violence to escalate if you resist, and that's what happened.

This is the height of pigginess. Using excessive force to arrest a man on evidence they were lying about having for a law that shouldn't exist.

Much like the way this nation works, you need to use the tools given to us to take action if you feel someone is in the wrong. Namely press charges. Ignoring law enforcement is stupid. He may not be in the right...fine.. but if you work peacefully then you will get things worked out easier. be a stuborn son of a bitch, get shot.

Very true. Police Services all use some sort of "force continuum". A subject displaying some sort of resistance, authorizes the officer to use one level of force higher then that being displayed by the subject. Every Service is different, but what this guy was displaying would be considered (by the Service I work for) passive resistance and verbal non compliance. This would not allow me to use a taser or any other non lethal weapon. Only when a subject becomes actively aggressive (punching, kicking, spitting) can a weapon like the taser or the baton be utilized. I cannot understand, nor would I work for any Service that allows it's officers to use weapons on passively defensive people. It's pathetic and gives a useful weapon like the taser a bad reputation.

Wrong: Arrest does NOT automatically warrant violence. Force: yes; violence, NOT always. There is a difference. When a policeman places you in cuffs, he is using force to subdue you. However, as long as no bodily harm is inflicted, then there is no violence. Swift force, like a punch, is violence. Gently placing someone's hands behind their back to be handcuffed is not violent. I mention these examples so the distinction is clear.

There was no need for violence here. And BTW, police in this country have too much power. Period. If they can't tell you what you're being charged with, then they shouldn't be able to detain you. And failure to obey should only be an additional charge AFTER the fact, i.e., they should only charge you with that if you've already been informed of the primary charges against you. Fuckers.

I see your point, I use 'violence' in a broader sense than you. So, violence would be necessary in case force is met with resistance, which is what the pastor did: He apparently refused to leave the car. Can we agree on that?

(...) If they can't tell you what you're being charged with, then they shouldn't be able to detain you. And failure to obey should only be an additional charge AFTER the fact, i.e., they should only charge you with that if you've already been informed of the primary charges against you. Fuckers.

Do you think, seriously, that a cop MUST explain to you why you're being arrested? Informing the charge has no bearing on the fact that a person must comply once they're informed that they're under arrest.

That's like a robber asking for your money and you say, "Why should I give you any money?", I'd expect the robber to shoot after that, not explain anything.

Resisting an officer invariably escalates the violence.
