ABC hosts booed after 4/16's sham debate

The audience is clearly not happy.
NetRunnersays...

For the record, these jerks didn't ask a single question about any of these topics in a 90+ minute debate:

The financial crisis
The collapse of housing values in the US and around the world
Afghanistan
Health care
Torture
The declining value of the US Dollar
Education
Trade
Pakistan
Energy
Immigration
The decline of American manufacturing
The Supreme Court
The burgeoning world food crisis.
Global warming
China
The attacks on organized labor and the working class
Terrorism and al Qaeda
Civil liberties and constraints on government surveillance

(original list from dailykos)

Instead it was a cavalcade of nothing but smear questions about Bittergate, Rev. Wright, Bosnia, tax cuts (the "moderators" arguing in favor, natch), even scraping deep into the barrel to try for BS links to Weather Underground that Sean Hannity is trying to push.

ABC's phones and mailboxes are gonna get stuffed with hateful responses.

Hahahaha!!! That list is like what ISN'T on dailykos anymore. Oh, irony.

The exact same complaint could be made of dailykos candidate worship and lack of any real discussion.

Comment hidden because you are ignoring dag.(show it anyway)

^ DK is very partisan- but they do talk about the issues.

As for the debate - just one more coffin nail in the cathode ray casket.

Die TV, Die.

It took us a while, but we are finally starting to see the media for the corporately funded propaganda that it really is.

The ad revenue for a given news channel is inverse to the integrity of their reporting. Ever wonder why CNN and ABC have ads for companies that make products you can't buy? When is the last time you bought a fighter jet?

Media bias is not about left or right, but rather who pays the bills. Corporately funded media has a corporate bias; publicly funded media has a public bias.

Between the video, the list, and my comments, the only thing you responded to was that I gave credit for the list to dailykos?

*sigh* Maybe ABC was right about what people care about...

If enough people write angry letters maybe the networks can be convinced to discuss REAL ISSUES instead of the latest manufactured phony scandal. Bittergate is a sham that never would have caused any brouhaha if the media hadn't siezed on it, taken it out of context, and tried to manufacture outrage by telling people how outrageous it was (it wasn't) before they even had a chance to listen to the remarks.

Drachen_Jagersays...

That was pretty pathetic. Doesn't anyone notice that Romney, McCain, Huckabee, Clinton and Edwards never wore a lapel flag on the campaign either? Only the candidates who lost big and early wore lapel flags.

This may be slightly OT, but I'm reminded of something that happened when I saw the excellent animated short "Men In Black" on TV once (it's on the sift, but higher quality version at http://kcet.org/explore-ca/web-stories/iraq/operation/pop1.html). It was all "brought to you by Boeing", and I noticed that the part where the guy says it's stupid to have the .50 ammo on the outside of the Stryker was cut out. A full minute, actually, when they return to the ambush site, just edited out. I commented on this to my friend and he told me that Boeing makes part of the Stryker. Mystery solved.
