First of all, neo-cons are bigtime socialists, that was sort of the problem. Second of all, voluntarily donating your own things to someone else is charity. Volunteering someone else's by force is socialism. And when 50% of a country's capital is distributed in that way, it's a huge problem. Learn the difference.

Does the color of one's skin affect one's mental condition? No. But obviously some individuals do take skin color into consideration when judging a person. Says more about one's mental fortitude and judgment, rather than Obama's skin color.
Or maybe it's good to set this type of example and say that we should all take some time out occasionally to help those in need. I think I'd be happy if he'd just do it when it's not thanksgiving. Do it in the middle of May for no good reason other than to remind people.
