cool as hell tho!!
Maybe now you can stop stealing our technology?
Lifting off for the first time in something you've built with your own hands has to be the best feeling in the world.
I would think that landing in (as aposed to dying in) something that you had built with your own hands would be the best feeling.
Very fake. This is green screen, and not very good.
You seem like you might be lost.. The YouTube comments section is over here, for further reference: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SqrAA0xDKmE&eurl
..The terrifying rattling lets you know you're alive! He looks pretty good on the throttle and stick! I wonder if he works making kits like the one he built for a living..
Tilling the friendly skies.
*Asian thing going on.
I'd like to believe it's real, so I upvoted.
As a video editor myself, I would have concluded the video to be legit. the background source is exactly as it should be and would be hard to match had it been on the tail of a real plane, esp the ground sequences. Also anyone who's rode old bikes and snowmobiles will know this guys pain of holding onto a bar that's shaking all over the place for long periods of time, hence the finger tips from time to time.
All I can think of when I see this is the part of Iron man where he runs out of fuel and crashes down, un-hurt.
Very nice. Hope it's real!
Not fake. Amazing, unbelievable. Props!
There is absolutely no 'wind rush' sound. Are you trying to tell me they have a $1,000+ Audio set-up on their video camera for a sub $100 plane? I don't think so.
Yes I know technically you could make your own wind sock but with the technology of the plane is it likely they know how?
My big clue that this is fake is an audio cue, not video.

Maybe you need better speakers? I can hear the wind pretty clearly on mine, particularly when he's banking.
Gyrocopter
You are correct. I suspected it when I saw how the stick was shaking and then I saw a picture posted above. I still can't see the whole aircraft. This really needs a back story and more pictures.
Edit: The pictures I saw are of a delta wing hang-glider style craft. It is completely different. No reason not to think it is a gyro-copter, though.
oh right...
camera shake... its hard to find a new camera today that does not have image stabilization atleast digitaly.
Wow. This mans flying ambition is the only thing bigger then his balls.

I was just going to mention the shaking stick thing. It is obviously real, because who would go to the trouble to FAKE causing themselves a lot of pain while flying a contraption. This is totally real... flying really isn't that hard, a big enough sheet of plastic and a good puff of wind will get you to flying.. but the landing is the scary part. I found myself holding my breath once he started landing, and when he finally hit the ground he stopped on a dime! Well done ambitious Chinese man!
I bet if the title said "American Farmer", QM wouldn't be calling it fake.
Seriously? No seat belt? What does this guy expect to be strapped to when he crashes?
There's a seatbelt.
I wish we had a photo of the whole craft. Pretty neat.
Here is the whole craft, which Gizmodo calls a helicopter, not a plane: http://www.videosift.com/member/oxdottir/queued
