Forget about the hybrid auto -- Shai Agassi says it's electric cars or bust if we want to impact emissions. His company, Better Place, has a radical plan to take entire countries oil-free by 2020. (TED)

Very close to the lecture he gave at MIT, which is also sifted somewhere here.

I truly believe this is the only way to make it past the next 10 years, since while everyone knows the oil reserves are running out, while oil demand goes up, no one actually talks about it... Cars can't swap to electric, or even Hydrogen overnight. It's sort of like an oil tanker....
