A 4-Year Old Mcdonalds Cheeseburger

A 4-Year Old Cheeseburger - originally from http://diet.com/videos

Author and Obesity Activist Julia Havey has been aging a McDonalds cheeseburger for 4 years. Find out what happens to this old burger? Fast food cheeseburgers age better than most humans. The French Fries still look fresh.

Here's a book that is quite similar on the subject: "Twinkie, Deconstructed" by Steve Ettlinger. It talks about where the ingredinents come from. Some are just chemicals. Some are mined (yes, mined, as in, underground). Put on a roof for 25 years exposed, and NOTHING happened to it. The birds didnt eat it. So why do us humans eat it?

Likewise, Arizona Ice Tea, ISNT tea. It has alot of addatives and such to keep its color, texture, and taste. But open one up and let it sit for three days, and its a syrupy mess.

I do not even go to McDonalds anymore. Or Burger King. Or Taco Bell (actually, I've never gone to Tace Hell).

Maybe frying something is a great way to 'mummify' stuff. Maybe a normal french fry or burger also looks like this after the same time? I'd like to see a comparison before I point the finger at McDonalds.

Also, it staying well in air for a long time, says absolutely nothing about what happens with it in the body. High calories? Yes. Filled with deadly chemical preservatives? I don't think so.

Why our kids eating this stuff?
Why are we obese?

BECAUSE YOU ARE A BAD LAZY PARENT!!!
BECAUSE YOU DONT HAVE THE WILL TO STOP!!!

why is always some one else to blame? never ourselfe but some one else
yea like Mcdonalls go to yor house and makes you eat all their stuff, fuck you

PS
Looks like the diet is not working

I agree, it doesn't look like the diet is working.
(although I don't really want to see the "before" picture of when she ate McDonald's regularly...)

I also dislike her completely science-free statement about it stays in your thighs because it doesn't break down in the air after 4 or 6 years. She must have no concept of what the function of gastric acid is. The preservatives might slowly be giving you cancer, but it's the high-fat, high-calorie, high-sodium of fast-foods that will give you heart disease much sooner.

would you compare the McD french fries to deep fried "real food" potatoes? i think its biased comparing cooked food to uncooked food when it comes to molding or decomposition... in a lot of places where refrigeration isn't available cooking is the method of preserving raw food surplus for later use.... please make your own burger and fries using only organic food... cook them properly then keep them in your lunch box for the next 4 years to compare.

and what does inability to decompose/break down in air have anything to do with digestion or human health, don't you eat grains, spices, grains, beans... honey!... all these things won't get "the thing you find at the corner of your shower" when you keep them for too long... are they "not real food" too

don't get me wrong, i agree that McDonalds is "super" unhealthy, but i doubt if it's because of the reasons you mentioned.

Sorry if I'm not willing to take dieting advice from someone who's obese and, like a nutjob, has been carrying a hamburger in their purse for 4 years to make some nonsensical point about hamburgers. If you're so knowledgeable about proper eating habits, why are you still obese?

Sorry if I'm not going to take science advice from someone who doesn't know desiccation is one of the oldest methods of preserving food, and takes no chemicals. Incan mummies don't have shower mold either, and they've been exposed to air for centuries without the need for any preservatives. Derp.

While I agree, fast food is almost always bad for you, I haven't had a fast food burger in over 32 years, what these morons are saying is just ignorant stupidity of the highest order.
