50 Cent gets bottled off stage by rock fans

A classic moment in UK music history. For some reason the folks at the Reading/Leeds Festival in the UK booked Fiddy in 2004, even though it's a rock festival. The audience famously threw stuff at him in Leeds, and then threw even more in Reading, and sang "50 Cent is a wanker", he stayed onstage for a few songs (probably for the minimum time dictated by his contract), and then ran away (probably to the bank).

here's the mpg... count the high resolution projectiles!

I also love this other clip of the same event because I just think it's beautiful, the soundtrack and the grainy showers of cups full of mud, the outlines of the people, the defiance, the bit right at the end when dude gets all upset and throws something back pathetically.

You can pretend this is a race thing or a class thing or an antiamerican thing or an antihiphop thing or whatever you want, but all I see is a fake getting rejected by people who prefer a little more reality in their music.

Yeah, it's a fake getting rejected by people that want more than a guy with a drum machine and a rhyme dictionary. Like people that play actual instruments!

"Fiddy" appeals to people that think a turn-table is a musical instrument. Not to worry, I'm confident that soon these people that buy this hip-hop or rap or whatever they're calling it now will see that the Emperor has no clothes.

errr, i love hip hop, but this aint it. turntables can be used as musical instruments, but not like this. hiphop will not die, it will evolve.

rap is like any other genre, it has some music in it and some bullshit in it. just listen to the right artists and you'll be fine.
e.g. don't listen to 50 cent.
