This one-of-a-kind French automobile, the 1932 Helicron, was discovered in 2000 in a barn where it had been placed by the original owners in the late 1930s. It is driven by a propeller bolted directly to a 4 cylinder air-cooled engine.

Solves the problem with insects in your face while driving convertibles quite neatly.

Might have some trouble with safety issues ... hitting pedestrians would be quite a disturbing sight.

Uphill appears to be a problem, especially a hill start.

Takeoff on flat ice would be good though.

Driving this thing on the freeway would be like riding on the front of a pallet jack at 65 mph.

Surely it would have worked better with a pusher prop like an airboat or a hovercraft.

I can definitely see this in the next Mad Max movie. You know, Mad Max and the Crystal Skull.

Now we know why the flying cars we were promised back in the 80s never appeared. The vital evolutionary link was locked up in a barn.

You won't get bugs in your face, but you will be sprayed by micronized bug parts.
