I seem to be finding more and more javascript-based embeds from the small sites, particularly MMA videos that I'm trying to sift or resurrect. Any chance VS will allow them in the future?
>> ^quantumushroom: Because providing for a common defense is written into the Constitution, while taking care of citizens' every need (and want) is not.
Quill42 already addressed this issue but I wanted to put an exclamation point on it:
welfare: Health, happiness, and good fortune; well-being
There's a lot of shit the government is involved in that I don't think it has any business being involved in, and I don't know how I feel about all of the ideas floating around as part of healthcare reform, but the idea that the government shouldn't have any interest in the health of its citizens is pretty stupid.
The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defence and general Welfare of the United States
Not only is promoting the general welfare (ie. health, happiness and good fortune) of the citizens a power granted to the congress in the Constitution, but it's in the same fucking sentence as the one that grants funding a common defense, that you like so much.
QM, how come you can't express an opinion without sophomoric name-calling? You're, if I'm not mistaken, among the oldest members of this site (referring to your age, not your time as a member) and yet you're also among the worst, most childish debaters.
And how can you seriously post a CNN clip? Aren't they the Communist News Network? Isn't everything they say a lie? Shouldn't we just ignore this as anti-American propaganda?
>> ^sme4r: Yeah, I get harassed by people who suck the shit out of their chicken wings. According to them, I never "Get all the meat." It's disgusting. He was so proud that he eats the cartilage, fuckin' gross.
Eating the cartilage seems to be a cultural thing. My step-mother is Dominican and was the first person I ever saw do this. I thought it was pretty weird at the time, but I started asking other Hispanic people I knew and it was pretty universal.
The narrator sounds pretty white, but maybe it's common in certain regions too.
I can understand dress code for some things... work, nice restaurants... but this is a fucking plane. Why should you put on a suit to be stuffed into a chair for a couple hours? First class might be less stuffed than coach, but it's still just a chair.
>> ^Sarzy: >> ^rychan: I thought that "jump suit" meant some type of skydiving outfit, which would indeed be awkward on a commercial flight.
Yeah. I believe his outfit was a track suit, not a jump suit.
I was curious so I just looked this up. 'Jumpsuit' originally referred to sky diving attire but later came to refer to any one-piece. It's pretty common to hear track suits referred to as jumpsuits, though.
I heard you were looking for me. (Blog Entry by MarineGunrock)

Awesome way to eat a chicken wing: de-bone it first!
