Dennis Kucinich Raises a Valid Point on Health Care
Never mind that Gandhi showed the futility of armed conflict. One would think that after such an example anyone with at least a minimum of intelligence would realize the complete uselessness of armed forces.
Every conflict we have been in since then could have been resolved through non-violent resistance with fewer lives lost than in an armed conflict so why have armed forces at all?

Dennis Kucinich Raises a Valid Point on Health Care
Never mind that medicare for everyone would save hundreds of billions for taxpayers. Even people who currently don't pay for healthcare would benefit. Universal healthcare gives you more options, better quality and lower cost so why not?

Lara Logan reports on the Yakuza
Being part of a group shouldn't be illegal nor an excuse. One should only be responsible for ones own individual actions. That seems fair to me.

Brian Cox at TEDtalks on the Large Hadron Collider
particles don't exist though so not so strange that the equation for the standard model is so convoluted. Vibrations might seem like particles but at some point we've got to think about vibrations and the harmonics of those vibrations which cause particle and mass like observations. Plus you don't need the "forces" when you think about vibrations and their harmonic influence of each other. No matter how much I search the web I don't find people talking about not needing forces as we commonly think of them and I still see mention of the particle/wave duality as if particles actually existed. Particles and forces may be a useful way of looking at larger events in physics as kind of a shorthand like we talk about cells and chemicals in biology but when you are actually talking about what the underlying nature of the universe is it seems I should at least find one reference to harmonics instead of forces.

iWATCH Anti Terrorism Ad -Remixed
I always try to remind police supporters that the more people have to worry about the police the less safe the police themselves are. Here in Chicago people arm themselves because they are afraid of the police. How does that make police officers more safe? By not turning each other in and by following corrupt orders or enforcing unconstitutional laws they are making their own lives much more dangerous. Also millions of dollars each year go to paying lawsuits against the police here. It boggles my mind that the ones who should be setting an example for abiding by the law are the ones who can get away with murder the easiest. Firemen lead more dangerous lives and yet there are volunteer firefighters in every city. So what excuse do we have for not being more strict with the police. If they were held to a higher standard than the regular populace they would end up being safer since people wouldn't be so afraid of them. The innocent would be safer. More of the right kind of person would aspire to be a police officer. Instead they can shoot someone and not get into any kind of trouble. Even if it was cold-blooded murder they would probably get away with a suspension unless there was a huge amount of evidence that the rest of his buddies couldn't make disappear. Meanwhile if I accidentally kill someone I would go to prison. Absolutely backwards if you want to be in less danger working as a cop or as an innocent civilian.

Count The Mistakes In This Homeopathy Lecture
E=MC^2 means mass is lots of energy. They are not two different things like she seems to think.

How the F... are you going to experimentally hit upon the exact configuration of vibrational energy to destroy the make up of a virus or a bacteria using "energetic solutions"? More likely the body heals itself when this seems to work. The placebo effect is getting stronger and is now often as strong as the actual effect of drugs they test which is becoming a problem for pharmaceutical companies testing new drugs and medicines. Great for us that the general population is learning to heal itself better and better.

New, full trailer for Avatar!
A whole new film language. Before you had to use fake depth cues to make a scene translate to a flat image. Now with 3D you have real depth cues. Cameron has spent years just to figure out this new film language. He hasn't made a less than great film yet! I hope this one holds up.

Minuteman Runs Away From Chicano Girl
Secure borders is not really the problem. The problem is the difficulty of legally getting in. If it was easier to legally get in then you would only have terrorists etc. trying to sneak in. If the minutemen are not racists then why don't they help immigration to go over applications for visas and green cards to allow more people into the USA. They could write the congress and senate to encourage easier legal entry. If their problem with illegal immigrants is that they are illegal then make it easier to be legal and then collect more taxes, etc. I suspect that there is some other reason why the minutemen don't take this approach.

PS. going on stage to unfurl a banner is inciting violence? whatever happened to freedom of speech and the right to protest? If peaceful protesting is called incitement of violence then what is the alternative? outright revolt?

Physics - Fusion and Fission
The Other countries will want the moon fuel and then we have a need for space weaponry... One things leads to another. If we take too much mass from the moon we fuck up our entire ecosystem and climate since it is so heavily dependent on the pull of the moon's gravity... Probably easier to focus on solar and wind power...

Physics - Fusion and Fission
Hmm the cost of all the fuel the usa needs in a year has to be vastly more than the cost of one moon mission... so actually not so crazy... If we can do fusion on earth that is.

Alan Grayson: Fox and Republicans "The Enemies Of America"
You might think Fox News has a bigger audience because that is what the mainstream media (who are also in the pockets of the rich few) would like the public to believe. Two scales:
Reality:
Left--------------------Center-------------------Right
---------------------------NPR------------------MM---FN

What rich fat cats want us to believe:

NPR------------------------MM-----------------------FN

Key:
NPR = Public Radio
MM = Mainstream Media
FN = Fox News

Fox News exists to make the Mainstream Media seem more balanced and to make NPR seem too lefty.
I listen to hours of npr every day and they have slowly been moving away from catering to the public and are now starting to seem quite the corporate supporters and still teabaggers would consider npr lefty propaganda. The only reason they think that is because of how crazy to the right FN and MM are.

Police: 8-Year-Old Gang-Raped by 4 Boys
It was colonialism that caused the situation in Afrika. It is being worsened and continued by farm subsidies here in the USA and in Europe. It is much more important that a few agricultural and petrochemical companies can make a few bucks more here than saving the lives of hundreds of thousands of people in Afrika.

40 year Old Banker Turns Rapper - Cracker Rapper
it is terrible because of the bad rapping and the vapid lyrics. The music sounds passable but also lacks feeling... IMO.
