I think it's a good rule. It's consistent with other related rules when submitting a video (title, tags and description should be reflective of the content). It would be fun to have creative license with thumbnails but I'm sure it would get abused. Not that anyone here would do such a thing, but I don't want to see a constant stream of "bewb" thumbs here

Man, that dancing thing is like your new catch phrase. 'Way to go dance hating idiots'.

Dupes should be called based on the original sift. Backups should be backups of the original sift. Likewise, dead replacements should replace the original sift.

In other words, backing up an original sift with an alternate version is bullshit in the same way that replacing a dead video with an alternate version is. When considering if a video is a dupe, it should be considered against what was originally sifted, not an alternate (different) backup video or different dead replacement video.
