PETA Alert! Lara Croft kicks vicious tigers IN THE FACE
Most likely because Angelina Jolie is no longer the person (model or voice) behind the Tomb Raider character.

Olympic gymnast and NCAA Women's Gymnastics champion Heidi Moneymaker was the model used for motion capturing.

Keeley Hawes will provide the voice of Lara in this installment, as she did in Anniversary and Legend

Olbermann Apologizes For Airing Republican 911 Video
Reminds me of the Family Guy episode when Lois was running for office. She discovered that simply saying 911 whipped the sheeople into a frenzy and used it over and over again to win the election.

When I saw this last night I was both amused and sickened they would stoop this low. It just goes to show how desperate they really are to win this election. Even the CNN announcers were upset they pulled this shit.

Low Gravity - Mythbusters Bust Moon Landing Conspiracies

No, just no. Check it again. It does not depend on your point of view. The shadows are clear, so are the scorch marks, they are no where near each other.

That's the thing about playing devils advocate, if the side your advocating has next to no credible arguments in the first place you're just gonna end up looking like a fool.

I posted 5 pictures and you pointed out 2 of the 5 that allegedly show "clear" scorch marks. Not very convincing, sorry. If they are there, then all 5 would show them. Not 2 of 5. Yeah, that's credible all right....

Low Gravity - Mythbusters Bust Moon Landing Conspiracies

>> Drop a penny in some flour if you need a visual of what I'm talking about.

Again, you're equating Earth's gravitation and atmosphere with the moon's. As long as you continue thinking of standing on the moon like standing on Earth, I think it'll be easy to keep seeing inconsistencies.

Instead of a penny in flour, consider a bowling ball in snow.

>> The evidence is still there.

At the end of this episode of Mythbusters they used a giant laser to shoot a beam at the moon where there are, in fact, still mirrors sitting there. And they did their sole job, bouncing the laser beam right back, proving the mirrors are there, so we actually don't have to go back to find the proof.

Cool, I'll need to watch it then.

Like I said, and it seems some people (lucky760 excluded) didn't read that before they decided to start blasting me. I'm not saying we faked anything. I just like to play Devil's advocate sometimes.

I do look forward to the upcoming Mars and lunar missions. I just wish they didn't wait what, 40+ years to start up again? That's one of the biggest mistakes we have made in my opinion.

Low Gravity - Mythbusters Bust Moon Landing Conspiracies
That being the case, wouldn't the pads of the lander have at least slid/skidded a little in the dust before they came to a complete stop if they were coming in like a plane? Or did they just float down to a nice soft landing at the last second? If the dust is as fine as they claim it is on the moon, I would at least expect to see some scattering of the dust from underneath the landing pads when they touched down. But I don't see any of that here:

http://history.nasa.gov/ap11ann/kippsphotos/5920.jpg

Or here:

http://history.nasa.gov/ap11ann/kippsphotos/5902.jpg

There's not even any dust inside the cupped area on top of the pads, which I would fully expect to see if they plopped down into a fine dust. Drop a penny in some flour if you need a visual of what I'm talking about. Either way, it still doesn't add up in my book.

I have no problems with the flag movements. He was also moving the pole around while placing it in the ground, thus the flag appears to "flutter" in the non-existent wind.
I also have no issues with the shadows.

It's all really a mute point anyway until someone actually goes back to the moon and finds out for themselves. The evidence is still there. (Or not there depending on your point of view).

I'm referring to NASA's own pictures after the landing has taken place. Not the footage of the landing. You tell me where the blast crater is, or any disturbed dust under the thruster of the lander for that matter in these pictures:

http://history.nasa.gov/ap11ann/kippsphotos/5864.jpg

http://history.nasa.gov/ap11ann/kippsphotos/5872.jpg

http://history.nasa.gov/ap11ann/kippsphotos/5873.jpg

http://history.nasa.gov/ap11ann/kippsphotos/5927.jpg

http://history.nasa.gov/ap11ann/kippsphotos/5931.jpg

The first linked picture pretty much sums up my point. I suppose they moved the lander to a different spot then took the pictures because the blast crater created by the thruster was unsightly? I'm not saying it was fake or not. But there are many discrepancies in NASA's own pictures that need to be answered.

Still doesn't explain how the Lunar Lander touched down on the face of the moon without it's thruster both creating a crater, or disturbing one single iota of moon dust underneath it....

There, I said it!!

Don Henley - The Boys of Summer
I'm in the same boat with Goofball. Was going through a bad breakup when this came out. Every time I hear this song the memories come right back again. Still a great song though. Still love hearing it.

NVIDIA PhysX Particle Fluid Demo
I'm told the performance is much better if you run an SLI rig. At that point one card can concentrate more on the PhysX end while the other handles the video.

McCain still claiming USA founded on Judeo-Christian values
>> ^Bidouleroux:

Without God, there is no good or evil. Everything is permitted.

Lol. The mushrooms you're smoking must be really good. While we're making blanket statements, Slavoj Zizek said exactly the opposite, that with God, everything is permitted. Why? Because God provides a small number of very general rules. Everything else is fair game. And then you realize God didn't provide an interpretation of how and when to apply those few rules, so now everything becomes fair game!

Without belief in a Higher Power, the only supernatural being man can emulate is the devil. Even history's greatest monsters thought of themselves as good people doing what they knew to be best.

Way to try and wrest your beliefs on the rest of the (sane) world. Without belief in a higher power there is no "devil" to emulate. You fail at basic categorical logic since your devil is himself a higher power (an angel). Atheists are atheist about all gods and "higher beings", whatever you call them. They thus can't emulate them per se, but only emulate the characteristic behaviors ascribed to those entities by religious morons like you. Those behaviors are human, they are universal: they existed before religion and even before language, and they will unfortunately continue to exist for a long time.

It's easy to make such proclamations when one is enjoying life and in good health. Those suffering through no fault of their own might not see it that way.

They might not see it your way either, so stfu.

Or read both. Religion is an intertwined driving force throughout history, in a world that demands meaning.

Only sane sentence in your whole post, bravo.

To be an atheist is to believe that Hitler and Mother Teresa are now both equally dust and nothingness.

Let's see here... "for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return." (Gen 3:19) Oh, I guess you didn't read that? It's kind of near the beginning though. As for me I think Hitler, by showing us the darkest side of humanity and uniting the rest of the world against him has done a much better service to the world than the prayers of Mother Teresa or anyone else ever did. And if you really read history, you would know the Spanish Inquisition was more like Nazi Germany than anything else in recorded time.

If people were capable of crystalline reasoning and not tricked by their own hearts, there would be no need to acknowledge a Higher Power.

This could be true if a higher, benevolent power spoke directly to us all at the same time. But as it is now, the representatives of that higher power are human and thus are bound to be "tricked by their own hearts" and incapable of crystalline reasoning. What they say is bound to be tainted by "humanity" even if they received a message from higher up (this is even truer if you think all lay people can be representatives of the higher power, like the protestant churches). Thus, whether or not there is really a higher being is a moot point. What matters is that some people truly believe in this illogical bullshit, for better or (mostly) for worse.

What I said here is probably beyond your comprehension, but I thought it would do some good to someone (starting with me).

This is the problem with religious freaks. They don't even know their own Bible. Hypocrites every one of them, IMHO.

In the words of one of my favorite movies, quantumushroom: "You have been weighed, you have been measured, and you have been found wanting."

Cover of "Ken Lee" by Mariah Carey
Without You was actually originally written and performed by Harry Nilsson. Not Mariah Carey. Not sure if too many people know this or not.

Funny stuff, Ken Lee. LOL!
