My dreams like this are always about very mundane things like sitting in class, or just being somewhere. Which as stated I remember when the event occurs and I get an extreme sense of Deja vu. Of course its so mundane its hard for me to say yeah this is exactly it!

If my less than mundane dreams start to come true well... we're all screwed.

Downvoting regionally blocked videos (Sift Talk Post)

I've always thought this was a have your cake and eat it too rule. It reminds me of when congress passes those non-binding resolutions that don't do anything more than say, 'we've decided we don't like this by a majority vote, but aren't actually going to try and pass any laws relating to it, because then we couldn't partake in using it.' Actually in videosift's case its almost a case of congress outlawing it for everyone but themselves, seeing as people below a certain star level can't post Comedy Central embeds.

Really I don't mind either way, if they're allowed or not, I guess I'm more bothered by all the waffling (mmm waffles) on the issue and lack of any real stance on the issue. Even if the rule is only gold stars and above can post them, and then they have to provide a region blocking circumventing alternative, maybe not completely fair, but at least its a stand. All that said I will admit my own go with the flow hypocrisy by as an up voter of Comedy Central videos.

Spider-Pig... Spider-Pig

My guess is that they were both originally different versions, but both have had the embeds fixed a few times and are now dupes. Interesting question I suppose on who gets the post, the original spider pig poster or the one who had this particular embed first.

Obama faces racism in West Virginia

First of all I'd like to say West Virginia is not part of the south, so please don't pin them on us

.

As someone who has lived in both rural and urban areas, I've found in rural areas the a much larger reliance on community opinion, which generally leads to acceptance without questioning or really understanding why. Opposition is small, and in a community of a thousand if there are only like 10 people saying something opposing they're easy to ignore, when you get into an urban area there are many more opposing ideas floating around, and even if the percent of people expressing those ideas is just as small as in rural area, its still a large group of people. 1000 people isn't as easy to ignore regardless of overall population size.

So people in urban areas find their beliefs called into question more often, and thus are probably doing more to inform themselves than whatever the majority opinion is, while those in rural areas don't run into much belief conflict on a day to day basis, and thus are less likely to evaluate things, and just go with the flow of their community.
