I tried to post this a while ago, and I don't think it made it through, so my apologies if I'm repeating myself.



I had a thought about certain types of awards, or Medals that videos could earn.


"top-15"

"fast riser" (out of queue in 2 days)

"super fast riser" (out of queue in 1 day)

"Awesome" (top 15 in 2 days)

"Super Awesome" (top-15 in one day)

"Way Above Average" (calculate average number of votes that videos submitted each week got)

"beloved video" (favorited by some percentage of active users.)

"heavily playlisted" (in playlists of X number of users)

"saved"

"died"

"resurrected"

"Promoted"



Then profile pages could list all the awards/medals that a user's videos have received with each icon linking to those videos.
I'm sure people can come up with some other award ideas.


Because it seems that people deserve recognition beyond just being here a long time and having no life (requirements for making gold star). I mean, people who show up all fresh and get a couple top-15s right off the bat deserve some recognition.
