VideoSift Sift Off Update
A little over three weeks ago I let you know about the VideoSift Sift Off. You would be forgiven if you have forgotten about it, however we have not and it is going to go on as planned. I have sent invitations to about 100 film schools soliciting the participation of their young students and hopefully it will go off without a hitch. During the past three weeks we have been planning this little endeavor and we have fleshed out our rules a bit more.
Of course our usual posting guidelines will apply, in that you will not be allowed to post pornography, bigotry, or generally hateful materials. However, in that this is supposed to be a user competition we will be clamping down on excerpts from television shows as well. We have also come up with a bit more info on how the competition will be run to give you a heads up.
Submissions will be allowed from 12:01 a.m. EST May 1st until 11:59 p.m. EST May 10th. At approximately 12:00 a.m. EST May 11th voting will begin and will run until 11:59 p.m. EST May 31st. At that point the winner will receive a coveted link off of the front page, which will include their work, a brief bio, and a link to the web page of their choosing. This link will pass through the grubby little hands of more than 1,000,000 visitors during the month of June and is a truly fantastic way to promote yourself. Second and third place will receive honorable mentions in a less prominent local as well.
The only rules governing submissions other than the above mentioned guidelines are that they must be hosted on either Google Video or You Tube, there may be only one per contestant, they may not have previously appeared on VideoSift, and they must include a 3 second clip at the beginning which will state verbatim "This is a Submission for the VideoSift Sift Off."� Have Fun.
