Trouble embedding from Vimeo
Hi all, does anyone know why this embed code from Vimeo isn't accepted by VideoSift? I thought it might be a duplicate but no dupe is reported in the embed test, and after quite a few searches I can't find anything similar. What am I doing wrong?
embed code is here:
<object width="400" height="302"> <param name="allowfullscreen" value="true" /> <param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always" /> <param name="movie" value="http://www.vimeo.com/moogaloop.swf?clip_id=1090249&server=www.vimeo.com&show_title=1&show_byline=1&show_portrait=0&color=&fullscreen=1" /> <embed src="http://www.vimeo.com/moogaloop.swf?clip_id=1090249&server=www.vimeo.com&show_title=1&show_byline=1&show_portrait=0&color=&fullscreen=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowscriptaccess="always" width="400" height="302"></embed></object>

I'm not sure you can embed vimeo unless you're a goldie, but I could be mistaken.
Vimeo actually is one of the approved hosts, so it should work. You might have better luck if you get rid of some of the superfluous stuff from that code, such as the "allowfullscreen" bits.
Vimeo code has always been hard to post, I've done it in the past but I had to sacrifice a few chickens. One instant it'll say the code is valid then the next it won't, it really doesn't make sense. Maybe someone with a bit more knowledge on embed code (than I) can figure it out and post a how to or something, maybe get it put in FAQ.
there's another sift talk post in here somewhere about this. the solution presented there, which is one that has worked for me multiple times, is to simply remove any "www." before vimeo web addy's in the embed code. dunno why that works, but it does.
try this:
also, vimeo videos are really easy to resize using their own embed code generator.
I did try some variations and cleaning out the more obscure bits as suggested by Sarzy, but no luck. However, YouMakeKittyMad had the fix - thanks!
See Dad, told you there was a solution!
