I too am getting a little annoyed at the rush of polls having nothing to do with the Sift, since I was planning to start a poll about something siftwhile. The FAQ has this to say about polls:

Create a poll to:

* get community input on questions or ideas related to VideoSift
* question points of Sift etiquette
* plan a real life meetup
* consider other constructive concepts related to the community

I was planning to bitch about it too, but I didn't want to be a partypooper like rottenseed.

Would it be possible to have the option to put polls in regular sift talk posts and reserve the headline poll for sift business?

I like polls, but yeah, we should probably be able to make "casual" and "Videosift-related" polls side by side.

We like polls. I think the powers that be put a limit on polls so we didn't go poll crazy like we tend to do at times. But now that it's tested and true you should be able to put your lighthearted poll along side a serious sift related poll. What say ye sifter G's?

I just think the polls shouldn't be stickied for so long, maybe a couple of days at most. And you should be able to do more than one at a time definitely. We don't want them all to be about sift related stuff, moaning and bitching about what you want changed all the fucking time

I had a poll I wanted to do too (sift related) and yeah the 1 sift poll at a time is a bit bollocks ...

Polls might get a revamp in the next version of the Sift in any case. But yes you should be able to stick any kind of poll on a channel if it fits and keep Sift Talk polls related to the business of improving the Sift itself.

Now that we are suddenly talking about improving the poll feature, could we make it possible to *quality polls? Creating a poll is often valuable input that deserves a reward.
