I would love it if the beg and siftbot-response were hidden, so that it didn't count in the comments. Maybe a small "this video has been begged for X times" instead.

I also don't like seeing something go into the PQ, but what I've noticed is that over time the real gems will end up getting sifted out, it takes time, but thats how the sift works right now.

Its not just you, look at most users profiles, they are full with PQs.

That's the point. If it were just me I'd zip my mouth and suffer. But obviously something is wrong if it's pretty much everyone. The fact of the matter is, the "real gems" shouldn't have to be reiterated to get sifted. I am glad that dag decided to take some suggestions on improvement though. I'm just disheartened from the lack of decent content lately.
That guy posts some of the best videos on this goddamn site. His PQ is larger then his sifted videos. Take some time to sift them up. They are all quality. The names are strange and unfamiliar but its definitely something you never heard or seen before.

Haha. I do enjoy my videos not getting discarded, that's for sure. It does feel a bit like if you're not a popular person on the site that your videos won't get noticed as much in pqueue though. But as you stated earlier.. probably just paranoia.
Yet here I am with a video in the top 15 about Steven Seagal punching other men in the penis, so I'm not really in any position to criticise.
There is no way to make unpopular videos rise above popular videos, that's nonsense. There was a suggestion a while back for 2 upvotes, one for quality and one for interest, but that's kinda hard to describe and implement.
Like choggie says, the only solution is if the majority of members vote with their brains turned on, and that is never going to happen, because the membership policy here is "anyone who can use a computer". Also there's so many rules that people can't be bothered to follow them.
Anyway, this is a fundamental flaw and it won't ever be fixed. Carry on...

So can we not all agree so far that the users need to get off their rump and zusammenarbeiten(work together) to improve the sift. Watching videos and clicking on arrows ain't all that hard folks. Put a little brain in it!
I don't think it'll never be fixed. I think we'll find a way to work it in eventually.
