"Voting "yes" were 39 Democrats, 34 Republicans and 1 independent.

Voting "no" were 9 Democrats, 15 Republicans and 1 independent."

This measure will send back to the house of representatives. Barely changed and still pushing 700 billion dollars.

Both Mccain and Obama voted positively for the bill.

There are provisions in the bill that are to protect the tax payer.

    Section 109: forclosure mitigation efforts
  • Working with taxpayer to modify home loans.

    Section 110: Assistance to Homeowners.
  • Assistance and definition of homeowners, servicers, etc as they pertain to other bills

    Section 111: Executive Compensation and Corporate Governance
  • "Any finicial institution that sells trouble assets to Secretary, is executive compensation requirements."
  • The sale and purchase of trouble assets.

    Section 112: Coordination with Foreign Authorities and Central Banks
  • Federal Assistance to foreign banks, that have defaulted or other troubles.

    Section 116: Oversight and Audits
  • Oversight - provisions - TARP - this section is complicated

    Section 118: Funding
  • Where the money comes from - provision for secretary - This section is short, and refers to some chapter 31 title 31 United States Code

    Section 120: Termination of Authority
  • "Authority shall terminate on December 31 2009"

    Section 122: Increase in Statutory Limit on the Public debt
  • "Subsection (b) of section 3101 of title 31 United States Code, is amended by striking out the dollar limitation contained in such subsection and inserting
  • "$11,315,000,000,000"" - Thats how much debt can be placed on the public

    Section 124: HOPE for Homeowners Amendments
  • National Houseing Act amended

Not trying to be a dick here, but kindly stop checking the "Include this post in the primary site Sift Talk as well as that of any selected channel(s)" box. We'll see it in the appropriate channel just fine. I in general really enjoy your posts, but they don't belong in general sift-talk most of the time. Someone posted earlier in sift-talk about this.

That goes for others who just wanna up their views as well. Too much stuff in main sift talk that isn't relevant IMO.

Perhaps a change in the label of the check box is in order?
