Queue Lifetime Adjusted (again)

As Dag mentioned, there've been too many chunks of flour falling through SiftBot's finely tuned mesh, so it has been more finely tuned.

The queue expiration time has been adjusted down from 3 to 2 days. The last time we tried this there was outrage because it was felt that too many things were just getting discarded. Now that we have the personal queue and your expired videos won't be discarded any more, we feel it's going to be much more acceptable.

In addition, there is a benefit to a shorter queue time: If a video expires in 2 days, you can now have 2 more days (instead of 1) to *beg it into the Canyon where it still has a bit of time to make it and live in the Top 15. (Not to mention that this change enables us to push back the inevitable necessity to up the queue escape level and/or reduce the available queue slots per member.)

Let's see how this all plays out. Thanks to everyone for your input and contributions as we continue trying to keep the Sift the best it can be!

Who will lead the anti-queue-reduction-time revolution this time?

It should certainly make it easier to go through all the unsifted videos. I occasionally see good stuff in unsifted go through without any attention, or I see stuff in beggar's canyon that I think is awesome but never saw in unsifted (and I really do troll through there most of the time). With less videos in unsifted hopefully that means things will be more likely to be noticed.

I would have preferred raising the vote escape threshold to 12 before shortening queue time, but maybe this will work. I hope you're flexible about changing it back to three days if this doesn't work out, however.

I still fear 2 days is too short to get attention for new sifts.

Now the unsifted ones move to the PQ instead of the discard pile but the PQ-ed videos are generally only visited by members via the member profiles.
Also few people - I think - look at the recently pq-ed list:
http://www.videosift.com/search?q=&t=v&c=&u=&s%5B%5D=r&o=new&vmin=&vmax=&l=&n=&submit=Search
Maybe this list can be added as a tab, next to unsifted, to increase exposure for pq-ed videos.

I think now an even greater part of the videos will now be posted with a beg and/or promote and/or have been pq-ed once/twice..
Some data about this would be interesting..

At bit off topic (and I mentioned it before but no reaction..) but related to increasing attention to videos: I'd like to be able to see non-starred (or just bronze starred) members' new submissions by ticking that option at the "unsifted video listing order", just like "display new submitter videos only".
