Proper Use of *DupeOf

In light of this invalid *dupeof declaration by rasch187, I wanted to remind/clarify the appropriate use of the command.

rasch187 mistakenly believed therealblankman's video to be a duplicate of this one because they both contained the same song. However, the video content itself is completely different in each post.

The *dupeof invocation should only be used on a post if the entirety of its video content is already contained in an existing, live post ("live" meaning not discarded or killed). The only exception, as noted in the faq, is where the new post's audio content is so vastly different that it changes the meaning of the video content.

For his mistake, the *dupeof privilege has been stripped from rasch187, not as a punishment but as a precedent previously set for improper invocation and as a warning to everyone else that you really must not use this command lightly. It requires a lot of painstaking, time-consuming labor to try and undo it, and the killed post potentially suffers in the mean time because it loses its position in the top 15.

I now return you to your previously scheduled program.
