How about making it mandatory for people to email a user if there video is being sent to *discuss. I am not saying the can't send it to discuss. I am saying they have to at personally notify the person first.
This happened to me recently, and it was resolved. Just a thought.

Good idea..
But how to enforce it?
Could we maybe make a non-binding VideoSift etiquette?
I don't think a courtesy email should be mandatory, but a little bit of etiquette goes a long way. I also don't view * discuss as punitive, but if we can keep the Sift Talk page free of issues that can easily be resolved privately then I think it's something to shoot for. A profile comment first would be great, but if the Sifter doesn't respond in a reasonable period of time, like 12 or 24 hours, then it should be * discussed anyway. If it's a particularly urgent issue, of which no examples readily come to mind, then an immediate * discuss can take place. Otherwise let courtesy rule.
That's why it is called discuss.
I would agree to unspoken etiquette.
I admit I was the one who called dicuss on Mycrofthomiz and he was rather upset that I didn't send him an e-mail that I sent his spiderpig to discussion... However, I tend to agree with Mycroft on the idea of getting an email that one of your videos were sent to discussion... that way you don't have to try to figure out what happened to one of your videos...
Demands, I can make them! Not really. Just an idea.
