We have just implemented a new, fancy
system to perform user logins. In the past, you may have been playing a video and decided to vote on it only to be surprised by the horror that you weren't logged in and now you're being forwarded to the login page. It's just an inconvenience that's just the nature of the web, but with this new system that'll never happen again.
Now, if you are logged out and click a vote button for a video or click the 'login' link, instead of being redirected to the login page, a floating login box will appear before you, which can be used to perform your login. If successful, most member features on the page (e.g., voting) will work instantly without the page having to be reloaded.
This has been tested with great success in FireFox 1.5, IE6/Windows, IE7/Windows, and Opera9. If you have a different browser than any of those and have a chance to give it a try, please report your results.
If it doesn't seem to work at first, try shift+reload or ctrl+F5 to insure your browser uses an up-to-date page.

Give that a try and let us know how it works out. I have used it in IE6 without fail.
please keep making the sift simple... but tweaked if you catch my drift
i've also had to refresh quite a bit in order for it to register my vote sometimes.
FF 2.0.0.1
edit: i don't so much log out, as i have FF clear private data, including cookies, upon exiting. maybe i can whitelist that cookie.
