Image Transparency on Videosift?

I noticed today that images with transparent areas (PNG) reveal a black background instead of the transparency. Would it be possible to add that feature to the site? The other forum I use with my friends allows it so I know it is possible. Does this programming allow the addition of this? I know it's only a subtle change and might not be worth much work, but it'd just be one small step up.

I don't know that we have anything that is blocking PNG transparency for posts. But avatars are converted to JPG on upload to VS - is that what you mean?
